Wildcats, Huskies, Butler Bulldogs: could you do this?

I literally didn’t know this cartoon was online until this morning. (Way to go, me!) I think I did it during football season, but it’s still appropriate for March Madness. It’s at narrativemagazine.com, but you can’t see it unless you’re a subscriber, or unless you’re a professional hacker, or unless… hey! you’re looking at it right now.

SXSW: Epic Text Tag

I may put up something about our SXSW panel later on, but I wanted to upload this first. A friend of mine who blogs for a magazine was also in Austin there interviewing people, and we had agreed to meet up at some point. The problem was that, because of the zillions of bands and events and parties and distractions that occur there, our schedules never actually crossed, despite constant attempts to do so (well, I actually did run into her on the last night, but it’s a lot better story this way). Here is the full account of our back n’ forth across Twitter and then SMS texting (pixelated for privacy):

Bitten

I clipped this out of my local paper’s police blotter last year because it’s one of the greatest examples of crime journalism I’ve ever read. This was the entire entry. The obvious question is: bitten by what? A man? A pit bull? A mosquito? The flu bug? His past? The desire to toss down a plate of buffalo wings? Was the writer bitten by the same creature in mid-sentence, and that’s why he or she never finished it? We’ll never know, and plus, it’s better if you use your imagination anyway.

More Fisticuffs

Our latest Fisticuffs! went down last week without a hitch, only because we don’t consider technical screw-ups, opossum humor, and audience groaning to be hitches. That’s me on the left, pictured with Dan Piraro, Doogie Horner, Farley Katz, and Rina Piccolo. I can’t describe it except by saying that you had to be there, but we’ve got two bloggy kind of photo reviews: one on the official Fisticuffs blog, and one on Rina’s blog. Maya Wainhaus of the 92Y Tribeca put up some great, and occasionally frightening, photos of the event on their Flickr page. Our next cartoon improv smackdown takes place on April 27, also at the 92Y Tribeca. Come and join the fun!
